Steeple Langford Cricket Club play at the Sports and Social Club behind The Wirr where the ground, the pavilion and the setting are quintessential village cricket. The facilities and the pitches are of a good standard and frequently attract Wiltshire County games for various age groups, young and old. The Club is ECB Clubmark accredited and prides itself on offering an inclusive environment irrespective of age or ability.
The Cricket Club run two Saturday teams in the Hampshire League together with a Wednesday evening T20 team. Training sessions for Colts are run on a Tuesday night during the season.
The Club is always open to new players, irrespective of whether they can play every week or can only play now and then. There have been games when the 2nd team have not been able to field a full team so having occasional players to call on at short notice is always very helpful. If you would like to get involved, then please call in at the Sports and Social Club and ask for Pete Dennis, or phone Chris Miles on 07912 444460. Alternatively, just introduce yourself when there’s a game on.
Note also that the Club is always looking for more general help with umpiring, scoring, ground maintenance and similar so again please get in touch if you think you could assist in this way.
