Storm Bert: Follow-Up Information

Storm Bert update

Following the heavy rain over the weekend, there are numerous flooding issues in Wiltshire this morning.

There are several Environment Agency flood warnings in place, and some roads around the county are closed. Teams have been working through the night to deal with issues as they were reported to us and have been installing signage. Today they are working to clear debris, grips and gully grates, and gully tankers are working on reports of flooding.

We have created a webpage with advice and the latest road closures. This page is being updated when we have more information.

Please report any issues in your communities using MyWilts as usual.

We are posting and sharing regular travel and flooding updates on our social media channels.

The weather forecast looks to be fairly settled today until Tuesday night into Wednesday when further rain is anticipated. However, cold temperatures are forecast and our gritting teams are on standby, should they be required. Our teams will be working throughout the week to respond to any issues as they arise.

To be alerted when water levels rise, people should also sign up for flood warnings and know what to do in case of flooding.

NOTE:  If properties (homes or businesses) with the Parish (Steeple, Hanging and Little Langford, East Clyfe, Ballington, Bathampton) have suffered internal flooding – please inform the Parish Council with appropriate details – so we can build a picture of the nature of the flooding.
