The Langford Beer Festival was started over 20 years ago to “…raise monies to contribute towards a new Langford Recreation Ground Management Trustees’ Building”, as stated in its constitution. Langford Vision was conceived soon afterwards, with the aim of developing the land either side of The Rainbow which would provide funds for the landowner and to build a new pavilion, as well as extra land for the playing field and some affordable housing.
The Vision was always acknowledged to be high risk as the land for development lies outside the village building lines, within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and several other factors. The Langford Vision submitted a pre-application to Wiltshire Council and recently received their report, which can be seen below.
