Amesbury Rural Area EM13
• Inspector 1619 Ricky LEE
• Sergeant 2687 Caroline RALPH
• Police Constable 1390 Juliet COX
• Police Community Support Officer 8251 Will HOUSE
There have been some structural changes to the area’s policing model this month. Response teams have had their shift patterns altered to better align with what data shows are the times of day with the most demand, and they are now all based in Salisbury, with allocated Amesbury units then travelling out into the area to be available.
The Neighbourhood Policing Team has also moved into the brand-new station in Tidworth. Our
staffing and the areas we cover have not been affected, however.
January incidents and proactive police engagement:
- Great Wishford – Two burglaries of outbuildings, with thefts of motorbikes and tools. Enquiries are ongoing.
- Little Durnford – Criminal damage to a car window using a ball bearing. No suspect identified.
- Fisherton de la Mere – Criminal damage whereby a padlock was broken and a vehicle of unknown ownership was burned out inside a barn. Enquiries are ongoing.
- Salisbury Plain – Theft from a parked and unattended vehicle. No suspect identified.
- Shrewton – Theft of vehicle number plates. No suspect identified.
On the 25th of January, as part of the national Neighbourhood Policing Week, the team brought a mobile police station to Langford Lakes. Using this as a base, foot patrols were carried out in Steeple Langford and Wylye. We were also visited by a number of local residents to discuss policing issues in the area.
Series
Police presence is still increased in The Langfords, Fisherton de la Mere, Wylye and Berwick St James following a series of burglaries and other offences in the area. These matters are being progressed through the courts.
Priority Patrols
Priority patrols are planned at the following locations:
Increased patrols are continuing in Steeple Langford, Wylye and Fisherton-de-la-Mere.
Routine patrols have been carried out in all the villages in the Amesbury Rural area.
